TikTok has introduced GIPHY to Green Screen, one-tap visual enhancements, new music and animal voice effects – and high-quality uploads.
TikTok made a number of updates to its camera and editing tools last week, namely a new set of video editing features that will make TikToks more engaging: GIPHY in Green Screen, one-tap visual enhancements, new music, and animal voice effects, and high-quality uploads.

The new GIF option within Green Screen lets users select a moving GIPHY GIF and apply it as a background to their video within a Green Screen effect context. Interestingly and on a side note, GIPHY is a property of Meta, which acquired it last year.
Furthermore, a new Visual Enhancement button will let them seamlessly adjust a video’s exposure, lighting, and color. The feature can be applied to clips uploaded from a device and clips recorded directly on TikTok, saving creators time and fine-tuning video edits before publishing.
The Visual Enhancement tool can be applied after capturing or uploading a video by tapping the new “Enhance” button on the right panel.
The third feature introduces new sound effects to an original recording, allowing users to make their voice sound like an animal or musical instrument. The feature follows the introduction of popular Disney characters’ voice effects, which the platform introduced to its text-to-speech feature in November.
The new sound option can be found with the “Voice Effects” button in the right panel after recording or uploading a clip.
Finally, TikTok is introducing the ability to upload higher-definition videos at 1080p, although the option is currently only available in some regions. The new HD upload option is available on the Publishing page in the upload process.
