In celebration of Disney+ Day, TikTok has added a series of Disney character voices to its text-to-speech feature.
Only a day after Instagram announced that it is adding a new text-to-speech feature to Reels, TikTok has launched the ability to personalize text-to-speech with a selection of Disney character voices.
The new voice options will allow TikTok users to have their captions read by Lilo and Stitch’s Stitch, C-3PO, Chewbacca, a Stormtrooper from Star Wars, and Rocket Raccoon from Guardians of the Galaxy.

TikTok users have had the option to add text-to-speech since December last year, when it introduced a calming, Siri-like voice for the feature, before substituting it for a much more upbeat voice that users struggled to immediately welcome.
The addition of the new Disney Character voices on the feature occurred during Friday’s Disney+ Day; a special event held on November 12 to mark the service’s second anniversary. The celebration includes a series of big streaming releases and unique perks for members. In addition, many new movies and shows are now available to stream on Disney Plus Day.
Although the November 12 release date was probably more linked to the Disney+ anniversary than with Instagram’s announcement, the event demonstrates that TikTok is more of an innovation leader and is, yet again, one step ahead of Instagram.
