You could start seeing full-screen ads on your Twitter mobile app in the coming weeks, as the social network is expanding its ad format inventory to offer more solutions to advertisers.
The news came in a Tweet by Samiya Ayish, a journalist attending the #Twitter4News event earlier last week. According to Ayish, Twitter is developing a full-screen Vertical Video ad format it calls “Monetized Moments.”

As mentioned, Monetized Moments will be appearing on Twitter Moments – curated stories showcasing the very best of what’s happening on Twitter, such as big sports events, elections, award ceremonies etc. More recently, Twitter has opened up Moments to all of its users, in an effort to provide multiple points of view and fuller coverage of important events.
This is the second important update that Twitter reveals in the past couple of weeks, following the news of a 24/7 live streaming service in cooperation with Bloomberg TV. It is safe to assume that the social network is making a big push on video content, as it has been long seen as the de facto second screen platform.
