According to a recent report, there are more than 1 billion accounts using Stories on Facebook properties globally, and that number is growing by the day. But stories ads are where the action will be in 2019.
The Stories format is hugely popular for users and for brands alike, with data from Buffer’s 2019 “State of Social Report” released last week suggesting that there are currently over one billion accounts globally using the format on Facebook and Instagram. As users start to take advantage of the format more and more, brands are also looking to get in on the action, to promote products and services, and to connect with their audiences by “riding the organic stories wave.”
Of the 1,800 respondents to the survey, 57% of brands say that stories have been “Somewhat effective” or “Very effective” within their social media strategy. However, stories ads are really what brands are interested in, despite 62% saying they haven’t invested in stories ads yet.
With stories ads on Facebook and Instagram, businesses will have many more opportunities to generate value from the format within the next 12 months and the 61% of respondents saying that they plan to invest in stories ads in 2019 just proves this.
