Porsche Design announced a new Custom-Built Timepieces Program that lets you build your watch to match your Porsche 911.
You can already buy Porsche Design watches, but now you can make one your own with a new online watch configurator that gives you 1.5 million different customization possibilities.
If you own a Porsche 911, the Custom-Built Timepieces Program lets you build a watch that suits you perfectly – and matches your car.
You don’t have to own a Porsche, however, to use the configurator to create your own.

“No other car manufacturer or watch brand currently offers a program of this kind. The colors, types of leather, and decorative stitching on these chronographs all originate from automotive production,” says Jan Becker, CEO of Porsche Design Group.
“We have come full circle: Ferdinand Alexander Porsche laid the foundation of the Porsche Design brand in 1972 with the Chronograph 1 after having previously designed the Porsche 911, and now we are taking the next logical step and are applying the principles of sports car engineering to the production of our Swiss-made wristwatches. The Porsche Design custom-built Timepieces program is making the dream of many 911 drivers come true.”
All you have to do is visit the configurator, to begin. Then, after configuring your unique Porsche Design watch, you will get a code to place in all participating Porsche dealerships in Germany. The Program will arrive in the U.S. and U.K. in September 2020.
Your order will be handcrafted according to your specifications, in Switzerland, and will be delivered up to 12 weeks after placing our order.
The base watch design is the Chronotimer Series 1, but you will be able to tailor pretty much all parts of the watch to your exact specifications – like custom-built dials and bezels, six different winding rotors, personalized laser engravings on the caseback, and over 300 configurations for strap combos. This leads to an impressive 1.5 million possible configurations for your new watch.
All configuration options come from the Porsche 911. Titanium is used as a tribute to the lightweight construction of the car, the color options are inspired by its interior and exterior colors, and the rotors are inspired by its wheel designs.
The titanium bracelet is available in either black or titanium, and the leather strap has over 14 different color options to match the 911’s color palette. Colored contrasting stitching in over 19 different color options in genuine Porsche vehicle thread, complete the strap options.
The winding rotor of the mechanical Porsche Design Chronograph comes in six design variants, and the wheel center features the Porsche Crest, and 24 different paintwork options from the 911 are available for the winding rotor.
The back of the titanium case can be personalized with laser engraving. You’ll get twelve characters to write a name, license plate number, your 911’s ID number, or whatever else you want.
