[box]UPDATE 2: A Facebook spokesperson has now been in touch to say that the problem should be fixed for all users: “Earlier this morning, while performing some network maintenance, we experienced an issue that prevented some users from posting to Facebook for a brief period of time. We resolved the issue quickly, and we are now back to 100%. We’re sorry for any inconvenience we may have caused.” So it seems it was just a guy hitting on the wrong line of code at the wrong moment…. officially of course![/box]
[box]UPDATE: it seems that the whole Facebook is suffering from this, but some users regained temporary access as they were able to post, like or comment for a few minutes before errors started to appear again.[/box]
As you may have already noticed, Facebook is currently down and status updates as well as comments and likes are not functional, while these lines are being written. Messages, however, seem to work smoothly despite some users reporting they could not add attachment to messages.
It seems that third-party apps were unable to interact with facebook too, including LIKE buttons on websites.
Users around the globe get error messages while trying to perform one of the aforementioned actions. According to page DownRightNow, the most popular social network seems to face a “likely service disruption”.
No comments have been provided from Facebook’s part so far. Hang in there, people.
