This time, Instagram has beaten Snapchat to a feature. In its latest version, Instagram has added a new hands-free video mode.
You might think it is just another new feature. Believe me though, it is much more than that. It’s the first time Instagram gets a new – and useful – feature that is not directly “inspired” by Snapchat.
The new “hands-free” video mode will let you start recording a video with just on tap, without having to keep pressing and holding to record your video. So now is your time to shine:
A new ‘Hands-Free’ option in the format picker lets you start recording a video with just one tap. Whether you’re playing a guitar solo, building a snowman or perfecting your handstand, there’s no need to press and hold. Finally, on iOS, you can now save your entire story from the past 24 hours to your camera roll as a single video.
I am sure the new “hands-free’ mode will unleash a lot of creativity among users, and it will also bring a lot more interactivity, as it is often more engaging to see someone performing in front of the camera, rather than holding their phone, right?
