In a bid to entice more users to use Facebook Stories, Facebook has added a new ‘Slideshow’ option on the Facebook iOS app.
Facebook is far from giving up on Facebook Stories. Apart from bringing Stories right to the top of our Facebook News Feed recently, the company has also been enriching the feature with option after option in hopes that more people will be interested in using it.
The new ‘Slideshow’ creation option spotted this week by Matt Navarra, allows users to create slideshows of images that will play as story frames. Of course, users can already do this (selecting multiple images when creating a Story), the new method makes it easier.

This might be a way to make it more enticing for more casual users to try it or simply a way to show more users that such a feature is available to them. Older, or less experienced Facebook users may find this useful.
Mark Zuckerberg has famously said that Stories is on its way “to overtake posts in Feed as the most common way that people share across all social apps,” so this new feature could be a push that many may be waiting for in order to get into Stories.
