YouTube TV Adds Discovery Channels And Raises Monthly Price To $50 For All

YouTube TV is adding Discovery channels to its package, but it will come with a price hike for all new and existing subscribers.

Whether you wanted it or not, the Discovery Channel network is coming to your YouTube TV subscription and you will start paying more for your service. The new channels (the Discovery Channel, HGTV, Food Network, TLC, Investigation Discovery, Animal Planet, Travel Channel and MotorTrend) are available since today to YouTube TV subscribers. The price hike for existing subscribers, however, will start on May 13th when your monthly bill will go up to $50 per month.

YouTube TV only offers one package, so unfortunately, there will be no way to get out of the new channel line-up and monthly rate. YouTube claims that these channels were a frequent request from customers.

YouTube TV is still a better offer than most cable or other Internet TV streaming companies. With its simple interface, high reliability and unlimited DVR, the service is still a guaranteed win. But users are now growing wary of consecutive price hikes and this could drive a large number of them to unsubscribe.
