There are weeks like that. Weeks when Facebook once again pulls all the cover to itself. I mean, if it wasn’t for a burger, all the news would have been about Facebook this week. Not that it would not be deserved as the company brought in some very new cool stuff: nicknames and colour customisation on Messenger, access to “Live” for all verified pages and a feature that allows you to order an uber right from within the Messenger app.

We still managed to insert some LinkedIn in this week’s best posts. It’s a cool infographic that basically shows you how the best strategy to promote yourself on LinkedIn is to be, well, yourself.
Now, as far as the burger is concerned, I’m referring to an awesome cross-platform campaign led by Buzzman for Burger King France. Have a look, I guarantee you will love it.
So are you ready for this week’s Top 5 trending news on We are Social Media?
Facebook Introduces Nicknames And More On Messenger – Facebook has worked a lot into making Messenger a business friendly app lately, adding feature after feature and transforming it into a true CRM powerhouse. But today, Facebook is introducing a bunch of new exciting elements that are 100% user-focused.
The Best LinkedIn Strategy? Be Yourself! – We usually think of social media as a place to express our true selves. And while this is often true on Facebook or Twitter, many of us are not comfortable with doing so on LinkedIn. This is arguably because of the professional nature of the network, but coaching expert Melissa Dawn thinks this is exactly what we are doing wrong.
You Can Now Order An Uber From Facebook Messenger – Facebook Messenger is meant to be a tool, one that makes life easier for both businesses and end-users. Now, Facebook is rolling out its new transportation service on Messenger, in collaboration with Uber, the first company to partner with Messenger.
Facebook Gives Access To Live Video Broadcasting For All Verified Pages – First, it was a testing phase through its Mentions app. Then it started becoming available to some US users accounts. And now Facebook has finally given access to verified pages to use its live video broadcasting feature on iOS.
This Burger Is So Long It Won’t Fit On One Social Platform – It wasn’t the first time Busman had worked with Burger King France. They had already created the tallest ever burger on Instagram to celebrate the return of the iconic brand in France, back in July 2014. This time however, to promote the new “long” burgers, Buzzman decided that they were so long, they could not possibly fit on one social media platform. |
