Kicking off this year’s Advertising Week, Pinterest is rolling out new shopping tools, among them, ads in visual search results and shopping inspiration in the UK.
Just in time for the holiday season, Pinterest is expanding shopping and ad features – with new tools for Pinners and advertisers, and the launch of Pinterest shopping in the UK. With more and more people visiting Pinterest for inspiration on what to buy online, the move is especially timely.
In terms of monetizing shopping experiences, three of Pinterest’s most visited places to shop – Pinterest Lens, the shop tab in search, and shopping on Pins – can now all include ads in the US and UK.
Previously only available in the US, Pinterest Shopping is now expanding to the UK as well. Pinners in the UK will now be able to shop within home or fashion Pins, shop their search results, shop ideas from their boards, and shop the inspiration they find through Lens camera’s visual search.
UK Pinners will also be able to get inspiration from Shopping spotlights – expert-selected shoppable content curated with publishers and creators.
Furthermore, Pinterest Verified Merchants and Shopify retailers in the US can now get conversion insights, demonstrating the impact of paid and organic content on specific metrics like site visits, checkouts, and purchases.
The holiday season is bound to look very different this year due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic worldwide.
Still, these new tools are meant to create more opportunities for Pinners to shop, and more options for retailers to be part of their shopping inspiration.
