Despite rumors of his return to Barcelona, or of an incredible contract in Saudi Arabia, Messi made the decision to move to the MLS and join the ranks of Inter Miami. And having the GOAT in the league is surely good news for the MLS, but perhaps even more for Apple which owns the streaming rights for the next decade.
Yes, an MLS Season Pass subscription, which is only available through Apple TV and cost $14.99 per month or $49 for the full season, has suddenly become much more appealing. And that is a good thing for Messi too, who will reportedly also get a piece of the Apple / MLS broadcast partnership – meaning Apple, who is set to win a lot from having the GOAT in the MLS, has certainly helped close a financial deal to bring him to Miami.
As something which now appear to not be coincidental, Apple announced on June 6 that it would air a four-part docuseries on Messi on Apple TV Plus.
