Instagram Will Soon Allow You To Share Direct Links To Entire Stories

Instagram is rolling out a new feature allowing users to share links to entire Stories, giving brands better options to promote their Stories.

Instagram is bringing a new feature to Stories that will help people bring more awareness and engagement to their Stories. The feature, spotted last week by Lindsey Gamble, gives users a new “Share Link to Entire Story” option in addition to ones already available to users in the app’s ‘More’ menu below a story.

The idea to provide links to specific Stories is not new, as Snapchat rolled out the feature last year as well. It’s just surprising that Instagram took so long to copy it.

Business accounts also get the option to “Promote” their Stories through the next option on the menu. It allows brands to make their Stories go further by helping them drive traffic to their websites, send people to their profile, or get people to DM them in Direct. With the option, brands can increase their reach on Instagram by promoting their story beyond their current followers.

Both the ability to share an Instagram Story as a link, and the new Stories “Promote” option were being tested late last year, but now it seems that Instagram is starting to roll them out to users.
