Another small update, but a cool one nonetheless! Instagram has announced that you can now reply to Stories with GIFs from GIPHY.
Back in 2018, Instagram started letting users embellish their Stories with GIF stickers. Around the same time, it also brought quick reactions to Stories as one more way for users to interact with the format. Now, Instagram is rolling out the ability to use GIPHY GIFs as reactions!
The news came in the form of a Tweet from Instagram’s Twitter account earlier this week.

After you’ve updated your iOS Instagram app to version 127.0, to respond to a friend’s Instagram story with a GIF, all you have to do is start typing in the “Send message” field, and the camera icon will switch to a GIF icon instead. If you tap on that, you will get a list of GIFs (and GIF Stickers) related to the text you entered.
There you go! One more way to engage with Stories. If you’re tired of having people reply to your Instagram Stories, remember that you can actually choose who can reply to your story by restricting replies to everyone, people you follow, or nobody at all.
All you have to do is go to Settings > Privacy > Story > Allow message replies. Easy!
