How do you feel about Facebook ads? As a digital marketer, you have probably used a few, and for different brands, right? What kind of results did you expect? How did it go after all?
Well, in its latest report, eMarketer reveals that Facebook has been named the most effective advertising platform by industry executives.

eMarketer asked top executives from 29 companies to grade the “Big Three” social media platforms – Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter – and the “New Three” – Instagram, Pinterest and Snapchat on a variety of characteristics.
The results are clear, and actually not very surprising. In the “Ad Targeting Effectiveness” category, Facebook came first and was awarded an A, with Twitter and LinkedIn were both awarded a B.
Among the “New Three,” Instagram is the most effective platform for advertising, before Pinterest, and Snapchat. Talking about which, Snapchat received the lowest grade (C-) partly due to its lack of a clear offering and crippling pricing approach.

Debra Williamson, principal analyst at eMarketer, explained that targeting capabilities were one of the most important aspect when it comes to choosing a platform for paid social media advertising.

And even though Pinterest is recognised as a strong platform for e-commerce and purchase intent, the advanced targeting power of Facebook makes it a clear winner:
