Breakout drop-in chat app, Clubhouse, has surpassed 10 million downloads despite being in an invite-only pre-launch phase.
Clubhouse has been blowing up lately, with many tech heavyweights like Mark Zuckerberg or Elon Musk joining the platform. According to app intelligence company Sensor Tower, downloads for the app have shot through the roof in the last month, surpassing 10 million downloads. And this, despite being in an invite-only pre-launch stage – and just being available on iOS.

Sure, downloads in markets typically dominated by Android (India, for example) have been anemic. Still, we can only expect that trend to change once the app is made available on the platform. As we’ve announced before, an Android app is already in the works.
Although Clubhouse downloads are expected to increase a lot more soon, it will most certainly face increasing pressure from other platforms. For example, Twitter is starting to test Spaces – its own version of the drop-in audio app.
Clubhouse’s rise has been nothing short of spectacular – having reached over 10 million downloads in less than a year since it was launched. According to Sensor Tower, the app is expected to reach 11 million downloads by March.
