If you’ve suddenly seen Likes disappear from your posts on Instagram this week, you’re not the only one.
For some time now, Instagram has been testing removing Likes from Instagram posts, but it has taken things slow. The platform began hiding likes on posts in April 2019 as part of an experiment to measure the impact on engagement. First reports showed possible negative impact for Creators, however, and Instagram seems reluctant to open up further.

In November 2019, Instagram started expanding its test globally, after starting in Canada, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Brazil, Australia, and New Zealand. But, recently, more users elsewhere have been saying that they were also not seeing likes.
If you were one of these users, rest assured that things will go back to normal; as Instagram has confirmed, it was just a bug that caused your likes to disappear.
This issue has now been fixed. Pull down to refresh your feed and your likes should restore – thanks for your patience!
