Α new feature allowing users to migrate chats from Android to iOS has been spotted on both OS updates for the beta app.
According to a new report from Android Central, WhatsApp may soon be rolling out a new feature that will allow Android users to migrate their chat history to iOS.

According to the report, WhatsApp’s latest beta update for iOS, version 22.2.74, already gave away that the chat app was getting ready to allow this side of the migration from Android to iOS. The update also proved WABetaInfo’s previous reports on this to be true.
The feature was discovered in the beta version 2.21.20.11 for Android in September 2021. Features spotted in these two updates on the two operating systems point to developing a new feature that may finally let users transfer WhatsApp chats from Android to iOS using the Move to iOS app.
According to the feature images, WhatsApp will ask for permission before starting the transfer process. Once authorized, the app will request that users keep the app open and their phone unlocked while completing the chat migration process.
WhatsApp allowed users to transfer backed-up messages only between devices running the same operating system until last summer.
In August, reports emerged about the app developing a way to transfer chat history from iOS to Android. Then, in October, it opened up a way to migrate conversations from iOS to Pixel phones and other Android 12 devices.
Migrations from Android to Samsung phones became possible in September last year. Transferring Android to iOS remains the final meaningful step in the process, though reports so far do not shed light on details such as which devices will support the feature – or when we can expect the feature to roll out.
