After announcing 4K image uploads last month, Twitter is now Twitter has announced that it will now stop cropping tall images on your timeline.
Just days after WhatsApp stopped cropping images and videos that you send in chats, Twitter has announced that it’s doing the same.
The change is rolling out on iOS and Android in the next few weeks and means that your single images won’t be cropped anymore – they will look the same in the composer, as they do on your timeline.

The change will make many photographers, artists, and social media managers very happy as their tall images will appear on Twitter exactly the way they imagined.
It is unclear if videos will also remain uncropped with this update.
A new kind of surprise: show off more of your pic when you Tweet a single image.
Now available to everyone on Android and iOS –– how your image looks in the Tweet composer is how it will look on the timeline. https://t.co/GTD4JGVXmY pic.twitter.com/u5X2kc8dzO

Up until now, 16:9 and 4:3 aspect-ratio images appeared cropped in the Twitter timeline and would only appear fully when a user tapped on the cropped preview.
Twitter initially announced a test for this change last month – around the same time it announced the ability to upload and view 4K images on its platform.
