The Rio Olympic Games came and went, and now it’s time for a second helping. The Paralympics are here, having begun this Wednesday. To celebrate, but also to get people talking, Twitter has released some brand new #Paralympics emojis.
The new hashtag-triggered emojis include anything “from gold medals to specific sports”, and you too can use them by including any of the following hashtags in your Tweets. Each hashtag will unlock a special emoji in your Tweet. it’s super easy! Plus, the use of these emojis is not limited to English. They are actually available in seven languages: Portuguese, English, Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean and Arabic.
There are also several Official Accounts to follow and interact with.

Light The #ParalympicFlame
During the torch relay, Twitter users were able to light the #ParalympicFlame virtually, through the platform. By Tweeting the hashtags #ChamaParalímpica and #Igualdade fans have been able to help light the flame through the energy generated by their Tweets.

Finally, Twitter even created a heat map “powered by the volume of Tweets” in each of the five regions of Brazil. This was available on the official website of the Games.
