Twitter has restarted work on a new feature that would let users react to tweets with Emoji. The first time the company tested this was back in 2015.
Emoji reactions are a great way to add more emotions to your response to someone’s tweet.

Twitter started experimenting with Emoji Reactions to tweets back in 2015. That was right when Facebook was also testing Reactions before rolling the feature out globally in 2016.
Now, Twitter is moving along with a new test that would let users react to tweets with Emoji instead of just being able to like them. The new feature was spotted by app researcher Jane Manchun Wong. She shared a screenshot showing a new option on top of “Retweet” and “Retweet with Comments” that clearly invited users to react to the tweet. Potential Emoji reactions include: 💯, 🚫, 😂, 😯 and 🙏.

There is also a new option to “React wit Fleet” which is Twitter’s version of Stories.

Twitter recently added a new feature that lets users limit who can reply to their tweets and the new Emoji reaction could be a great addition to make the conversation friendlier and more intuitive on the platform.
