Reddit has now surpassed Facebook as the third most popular site in the US, behind Google and YouTube, according to rankings published by Amazon subsidiary Alexa.
For a long time, it felt that nothing could disturb the Internet world order. Google was number 1, followed by YouTube and Facebook. Yet, it happened, Reddit managed to dethrone Facebook, according to the latest rankings from Alexa.
Not only that, but Reddit beats every other website when it comes to time spent on site and daily pageviews per visitor. Users spend twice as much time on Reddit (15:09 minutes) than on Google (7:17) or YouTube (8:31). Only Facebook comes close with users spending just above 10 minutes on its website.
Reddit’s new design has undoubtedly helped the site climb up the rankings, however the recent scandals may have indeed cost Facebook more than the company is willing to admit.
The top 10 most popular websites in the US are:
- YouTube
