Facebook is making it a lot easier for users to report bugs on its platform, with a new “shake to report” feature.
If you’re using Facebook every day, it’s highly possible that you will – at some point – run into a bug. Of course, Facebook would want you to report it, but really… who’s got time for that? I mean, you’d have to navigate through a few menus just to locate the option. Now, Facebook is trying to make bug reporting a lot easier for everyone.
Soon, Facebook will be rolling out a new “shake to report” feature that would allow you to shake your phone to file a bug report. Up until now, this was only available as an opt-in feature on iOS, but Facebook is working on making it a default setting on both iOS and Android.
It’s simple enough to use. Just shake your phone, and a pop-up menu will appear for you to report the bug. As Engadget reports, “Facebook also wants users to report when they can’t figure out how to complete an action, like how to delete a story,” not just when something doesn’t work as it should. Therefore, users can just shake their phone when they encounter any problem and just report it.
The feature will be rolling out to a small percentage of users around the world first, but it should be available to all within the next few weeks.
