Reddit Introduces TikTok-Like Short-Form Video Feed On iOS

Reddit is rolling out a short-form video feed on iOS, with content from subscribed and related subreddits.

Reddit is the latest platform to bring a short-form video format in its feed, with the introduction of a new video button in its app. The feature is only available on iOS,  where users can find the button to the right of their search bar in the app.

Short videos on Reddit will stream in a way similar to TikTok and Instagram Reels, though the user interface of the videos isn’t new.

Reddit has been experimenting with this format since last year, making videos accessible with a tap. Members of the community can upvote or downvote, comment, gift, award, and share, as usual.

The video content comes from related Subreddits or ones users subscribe to, thus promoting the discovery of other communities on the platform, without users having to scroll through endless discussions.

Last December, Reddit acquired Dubsmash, a short-term video social platform, and has confirmed plans to incorporate its technology into developing new features further down the line.
