Pinterest has announced the launch of a new collection of products on The Pinterest Shop to support small, sustainable brands on its platform.
In honor of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day and in an effort to elevate small businesses and support them during the COVID-19 pandemic, Pinterest is launching a new collection of products on The Pinterest Shop.
The Pinterest Shop launched last November, offering a selection of small businesses to let Pinners shop from, for the holidays. But as the future of small businesses at the moment is at risk all around the world, “the new collection offers Pinners an opportunity to discover and shop up-and-coming brands and to support their business and livelihoods.”
The platform’s traffic is booming, and Pinners are “planning, deciding what to try or buy next and looking for inspiration,” explains Pinterest in an email earlier this week. The current situation will certainly help provide better visibility for small businesses.

Pinterest is, in part, responding to the sudden increase in searches for “support small business,” which have increased 351% in the last few weeks, as Pinners look to help small brands and small business owners.
The Pinterest Shop will feature numerous “curated and shoppable Pins from 21 sustainable and ethical businesses” across the US, letting Pinners discover and shop from new brands.
