Pinterest is spicing up Memorial Day inspiration in partnership with Netflix and the McGees from ‘Dream Home Makeover.’
Pinterest knows just how excited people are about Memorial Day from what they search for. The visual discovery platform has seen searches for Memorial Day go up by 11x, and menu ideas for Memorial Day celebrations up by 7x compared to last year.
Riding the trend, Pinterest has partnered up with Netflix to tap the McGees from the new hit series, Dream Home Makeover. The initiative serves to provide new ideas for the upcoming holiday – and start inspiring conversations and engagement around creative ideas.
Starting on Friday, May 21, a variety of Memorial Day decor and recipe ideas will be featured on Pinterest’s Today Tab with a “Call to Create” inviting creators of all kinds to participate.
Using Idea Pins, creators can contribute to the inspiration with tutorials, tips, recipes, and more – as videos, images, in-depth descriptions, and templates.
Those contributed Idea Pins are now gathered together and featured on Pinterest’s Today Tab to build a collection of easy-to-explore popular and timely ideas for Memorial Day.
Creators like Half Baked Harvest and Farmhouse on Boone are already joining in to share inspiring content around preparations for the perfect Memorial Day, drawing from a number of food-related trends including, grazing cones (up 120x), cucumber roll-ups (up 2x), grill hut (up 11x), bbq cake ideas (up 2x), pineapple upside-down cake (up 29x), strawberry chocolate chip cookies (up 8x).
