Instagram Will Now Save Everything Captured With Stories Camera For Seven Days

Instagram is rolling out a new feature that lets you take many photos and videos with your Stories camera and use them within seven days.

According to reports, Instagram is rolling out a small – but not insignificant – feature that gives you more time to use the photos or videos that you capture with the Stories camera. The feature, spotted by Twitter user @giuseppe_twt and shared by Matt Navarra last week allows users to save everything captured with the Stories camera for seven days without deleting it.

The saved content is available within “Recents,” making it easier for users to curate their content in Stories, rather than be pressured to post something right away. While the new feature takes Stories further from their origins, it will probably resonate with many users who – whether we like it or not – spend a lot of time curating and polishing their Stories content.

In my opinion, it might actually help people create more content on Stories.

But the feature will be most useful for brands, however, as their Stories tend to be even more well-curated and thoughtfully-crafted.

Either way, while you can already do this to a certain extent (just take pictures and record video into your Camera Roll instead), the new feature is native to Instagram and causes less friction.

Instagram hasn’t announced the feature yet, but it should be rolling out to all soon!
