Instagram Reels will start including full-screen, looping, 30-second ads today, available across the globe.
Like on TikTok or Stories, Instagram Reels ads will appear in between other clips.

The good days of ad-free Reels are over. Today Instagram has officially rolled out ads on Instagram Reels. They look like any other Reel, full-screen, looping, and up to 30 seconds long, except they will be identified by a small “sponsored” tag below the name of the advertiser’s account.
Instagram Reels ads are not new for everyone. The platform started testing them in Australia, Brazil, Germany, and India back in April. Surprisingly, however, Instagram has not communicated any results or numbers from this test, not even now that it has launched them globally.
In fact, Instagram has never shared specifics on how well Reels have been doing since their launch in August 2020. The only clue came from Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram, who told The Verge in January 2021 that Reels were growing but that the company was “not yet happy with it.”
