Two things are going to happen now: 1. engagement is going to be sky high for a while, and 2. your Instagram feed will never be the same again.
Posting GIFs as comments on Instagram will not be new for everyone. The feature was already enabled for some users in a limited availability phase. Well, it seems the test was successful and now Meta is rolling out the feature to every user, globally. The GIFs come from Giphy’s library and can be accessed through a new button located on the right side of the comment box.
Meta is also rolling out new editing abilities for Instagram Reels: “In the next few weeks,” according to the press release, you’ll be able to split video, speed up and slow down clips (slo-mo), and replace clips in the timeline nondestructively.
