As Instagram expands shopping from Feed to its Stories feature, you can now shop from some select brands in Instagram Stories.
In an effort to further turn its platform into a “place of action” not “just a place for inspiration,” Instagram last week announced that it is expanding shopping capabilities into Stories with special stickers that only some brands can use for now. When you see “a sticker with a shopping bag icon” you can simply tap on it to get more details about the product being showcased.
Brands like Adidas, Aritzia, and Louis Vuitton, are currently using the feature, allowing people to shop their products in Instagram Stories; however, more businesses will have the ability soon.
In the announcement for the new feature, Instagram explains that “shoppers on [the platform] are savvy. They visit Instagram looking for the latest trends and styles. With 300M using Instagram Stories every day, people are increasingly finding new products from brands they love.” So why not getting them buying what they find on Stories? Well, that’s where the new feature comes in handy.
Shopping in Stories isn’t a new idea. Snapchat is also working on its own version or rather versions of this feature.
