Twitter has been launching more and more features lately, in an attempt to modernise its platform and lure users and businesses into using interesting and useful features. Are you a small business? A new user on Twitter? You don’t even know what Twitter does? Worry not, Twitter Dashboard is here to save the day.
Twitter Dashboard is a standalone web app that helps businesses connect with their fans, customers, and community. More specifically, users can now schedule tweets, manage their business accounts and access pro tips and analytics. And while this looks like what most social media management platforms would do, Twitter promises that Dashboard is different; because it’s personalised.

To set up your Twitter Dashboard, you will have to provide some basic information, such as the type of your business and the number of employees you have currently in your business. Then, the app will guide you through the process of setting up a customised Twitter feed that does not consist of your followers exclusively, but from accounts that mention your brand or include it in a conversation. There, users are invited to include nicknames, phrases and hashtags people use when referring to you, and exclude those that are irrelevant.
That’s it, you’re all set to go. Users will find three distinctive tabs – Home, Create and Analytics, that show them their customised feed, the tweet scheduler and all related analytics, respectively.
In the past few weeks, Twitter has ramped up its feature offering. Last week, it launched Engage, another standalone app that helps influencers identify loyal followers and better understand their community. With the roll out of Dashboard, Twitter aims to onboard both brands and celebrities, in an attempt to appeal and attract everyday users.
Audience growth is an important factor for Twitter, which sees its numbers stable for the past couple of years. Let’s see how this latest attempt will play out.
