Snapchat is booming. And not only as a platform, but as a business as well! After announcing a massive deal with Viacom, Snapchat is now introducing a new revenue stream, in the form of on-demand geofilters!

Geofilters are not new on Snapchat. In fact, there are already two types. Community geofilters, that can be submitted for free but cannot include any logos or marketing messages. For example, in London, many boroughs have their own. For brands, there are the sponsored geofilters, which let them cover a large area with marketing-based geofilters.

Now, with on-demand geofilters, Snapchat is letting users get their own. Of course you will need some design skills, but you can distribute your own custom geofilters within an area of your choice, and for a specific time. All submissions are reviewed by Snapchat but the turnaround is rather fast – usually under 24 hours.
On-demand geofilters must cover a minimum area of 5,000 square feet, and a maximum of 5 million square feet! They also must be live for at least 30 minutes. Pricing starts at $5.

Of course, on-demand geofilters can also be used by companies to market their business locally. Once you get your first geofilter approved, you will also get access to analytics on views and usage.
It all starts here.
