How do you feel about your Facebook News Feed lately? It’s getting seriously busy, right? So busy, that it’s hard to follow what your friends are up to. Facebook is constantly working on its algorithm to try and bring you the most important updates first, but we all know this usually ends up with serving us more ads or branded content…
So this update might actually be a very useful one: Facebook will now show you which friends have been active, since the last time your logged in.

We all do it. We spend so much time checking out our friends profiles one by one, to see if they have posted something new. Sometimes they have, sometimes they have not. And until now, there was no other way to check this.
Over the past few weeks, Facebook has been testing a new feature that informs you when friends have shared new content, and if they have, how many posts they published since the last time you checked their profile.

On desktop, this takes the form of a blue dot on their profile picture within your friends box (on the left side of your profile page) and you will also see how many posts have been shared since the last time you checked their profile:
On mobile, a blue note – with the number of posts – is added under their names when you search for friends:
It may not seem like much, but this cool add-on will save you a lot of time while scouring Facebook to know what your friends have been up to. And with a busier than ever News Feed, any hack that saves time, is very welcome.
