Drone frenzy has claimed another victim. Twitter might be late on board the drone trend, but it seems like the company is now set to build its own machines.
The patent, filed in the US, is for a UAV with on-board camera and microphone which will be capable of capturing both images and video, and send them directly on to the Twitter feed. But the big news is that Twitter plans to open up control of the drone to its users. A set of commands will be released, for users to insert into tweets and take control of the drone.

Now let’s wait and see. Will Twitter actually go ahead and build the first “democratically” controlled social media drone? And if it does, how would users compete to get access over one another?
