Twitter Tests New Full-Screen, Vertical Experience For Its Explore Tab

Twitter is testing a new TikTok-like format for content discovery on Explore, with full-screen content that users can scroll through vertically.

Last Twitter has announced it is testing a new Explore experience that displays Tweets in a full-screen size and with a vertical scrolling format. Much like TikTok’s feed.

Among the other TikTok-like new characteristics of the experience is a Twitter navigation bar at the bottom of the full-screen image, and the vertical navigation where users are able to swipe up to see videos, photos, and text-based Tweets in a continuous feed.

According to Twitter, the new Explore experience is meant to help users discover the best content that’s trending.

The enhancements to the display of the “Explore” content discovery Tab are currently being tested with select users who use the platform in English, on Android, and iOS.

Right now, the new Explore display is in test mode “in certain countries,” including India where TikTok saw a massive user engagement before the country took down the app.
