App researcher Jane Manchun has discovered a new “tipping button” that could let users tip Creators right from their profile.
Twitter has been exploring ways to help Creators monetize their content for quite some time.

Jane Manchun has shared screenshots of a new way to tip Creators she recently discovered: a tipping button right on the user profile, next to the follow button.

In the above screenshot, you can see a new little cash button between the user profile picture and the follow button. Clicking or tapping on it apparently shows options to let you send money via Bandcamp, Cash App, Patreon, PayPal, and Venmo.
Wong also found evidence of an upcoming “Tip Jar” in Twitter Spaces, Twitter’s own CLubhouse-like social audio feature.
Wong also shared more screenshots showing that Twitter could also be releasing its new “Super Follow,” a new feature that lets you charge followers to access extra exclusive content.

Twitter declined to comment and the company has yet to formally announced a tipping feature. Should these discoveries end up being released, it is very likely that Twitter will restrict them to verified profiles only.
