TikTok became the world’s favorite online destination long before the BBC reported this recently. According to data collected by IT security company Cloudflare, TikTok surpassed Google in web traffic ranking in February, March, and June this year. It has, however, held the number one spot consistently since August.
Cloudflare, which tracks data using its tool Cloudflare Radar to monitor web traffic, said that last year’s winner was the search engine, but other giants composing the top 10 included Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Microsoft, Netflix, and, of course, TikTok.
By July this year, TikTok had been downloaded more than three billion times, and it now has over one billion active users worldwide.
