The TikTok TV app is now available on Amazon Fire TV devices in the UK, France, and Germany.
After launching its TV app on Samsung Smart TVs last year, as well as on Google TV and Android TV in February, TikTok has now announced TikTok TV’s availability on Amazon Fire TV devices as well.
The TikTok TV app has been built especially for a TV home-viewing experience, allowing viewers to watch content from feeds such as ‘For You’ and ‘Following,’ including popular videos across a huge range of categories, from gaming and comedy to food and animals.
However, the platform is also providing a new personalized ‘Discover’ page, where TikTok users can find more of their favorite content, creators, and categories.
“We’re excited to bring the creativity and joy of TikTok to Amazon’s Fire TV devices in France, Germany, and the UK. TikTok TV app on Fire TV will be a new way for people to come together and enjoy videos from some of our most popular content categories on the big screen,” explains Rich Waterworth, General Manager at TikTok UK. “Whether it’s learning a new skill or just having some fun together watching what you love, now more than ever, this is a brilliant way for people to be entertained by their favorite TikTok content together at home.”
TikTok is also looking into bringing the feature to more countries outside of Europe, as Protocol recently reported. According to the recent report, making content available on TV could also potentially increase TikTok’s revenue, as advertising to users on big screen devices is certainly more lucrative.
