To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Shamrock Shake, McDonald’s has created a version that is worth nearly $100,000. And it could be yours.
Nothing says 50th anniversary like a lot of gold and gems. Or does it?
McDonald’s has chosen to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its Shamrock Shake with an exclusive version made out of gold and emeralds. The $100,000 shake is built out of high-polish 18K gold and incorporates 50 green emeralds and white diamonds to celebrate the 50 years of the Shamrock flavor. But that is not all. McDonald’s golden arches are also made out of 50 yellow diamonds, representing 50 years of being a customer-favorite item at the restaurants.
The Golden Shamrock Shake was actually created to raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities. The auction on the RMHC eBay for charity page opened on February 25 and will close on March 6 – with the starting bid listed at $1. All proceeds from the winning bid will go to Ronald McDonald House Charities to support families with ill or injured children.
But you can also win your own Golden Shamrock Shake, just by using the McDonald’s Global Mobile App to purchase a regular Shamrock Shake or OREO Shamrock McFlurry through Mobile Order and Pay. How about that?
