Video grew a lot in the social media space in 2015 and has become one of the most important content types currently out there. It has also grown into one of the most effective marketing tools this year, and one of my predictions for 2016 is that it will develop and rise further, becoming a huge asset for marketers who are able to use it effectively in their efforts.

But let’s have a look at the rise of video in 2015 and what this will translate to in 2016. Business software solutions provider, Orchestrate gives us a clearer picture in the infographic below.
Video is very important as it’s highly engaging, it converts customers, and 70% of B2B marketers agree. There are many marketers currently testing video content – 87% of online marketers to be exact. There are also many consumers watching video content – 85% of the internet audience in the United States currently watches online video.

Video brings conversions. This we know. It is a very important step in the conversion funnel, as 46% of viewers “take action” following watching a video, and 96% click on links after watching a video. A whopping 64% buy products after watching a video and 90% agreed that watching a video helped them in their decision-making process in terms of buying a product!

Taking all the above into consideration, and looking at the fact that over 1.5 billion online users will be consuming video globally in 2016, the next year is going to be a massive year for video and video marketing. With new video formats and technologies, it’s only logical that we will see many new and interesting implementations of the medium within 2016.
And in 2017… over 69% of all internet traffic from consumers will be related to video!
