Telegram Upgrades Media Editor With Animated Stickers And Video Editing

Telegram has announced an upgrade to its media editor, bringing support for animated stickers and video editing.

Back in 2015, Telegram released its photo editor, letting users enhance image quality and add drawings, stickers, and text to their pictures. Expanding on the editor, Telegram has now announced an upgraded media editor that brings support for animated stickers and the ability to edit videos.

With the upgrade, you can now enhance video quality in just two taps – or manually by tweaking parameters like brightness, saturation, and others. The media editor also lets users zoom in on photos or videos when drawing on them to get every detail just right.

Furthermore, users are now able to add animated stickers to any photo or video. When doing so on a photo, the photo turns into a GIF. Finally, Telegram’s GIF panel has now also been upgraded with a new Trending section and emoji-based tabs that cover most emotions that you’d like to convey.

If you’re the impatient type, loading times for GIFs have been improved in the panel, so you can find GIFs much faster. You can also hold on any GIF that you haven’t sent before to save it to your Recent tab to use later.

In addition to the above, Telegram is introducing a new feature that lets you hold on any chat to add it to a folder. The same works for removing chats from folders.

Finally, Android users will also get a few extras. For one, Telegram has improved its video player on Android (videos shorter than 30 seconds are looped automatically) and has made changes to the animations when messages are sent, edited, or deleted.
