The new design is tiled as opposed to icons being circular. Publishers in the Discover section – MTV, CNN, Comedy Central – each get their own tile. This also changes for Live Stories. The actual layout hasn’t changed, as tiles (instead of circular icons) can be found at the top of the stories feed. Publishers now get their own cover page, image and text on their tiles.

Discover is where Snapchat makes most of its money, so it’s clear that it wants to optimise it for users and publishers. The Discover tab now allows users to subscribe to channels so that they get it’s content appear in their personal feed. Of course they can also unsubscribe in very much the same way. Users can also share a channel with their friends – by pressing and holding they can then share it via other social accounts, SMS and email.
