Reddit is making its advertising business look less like a place to collect leads and more like a system for proving what happens after someone clicks.
In a new announcement, Reddit says advertisers can now send prospects to their own landing pages, use custom forms, and route lead data into existing CRM workflows. Max campaigns are also available for lead-generation objectives, allowing Reddit to automate campaign settings and creative rotation while providing audience insights.
Reddit wants to capture intent, not just attention
The more important move is the platform’s attempt to identify people who are already researching a purchase. Reddit is introducing in-market audiences in beta, including categories such as Enterprise and Business AI and cybersecurity. The company says advertisers using those audiences saw an average improvement of nearly 7% in cost per acquisition compared with other first-party targeting options.
That claim is based on Reddit’s internal data, so it should be treated as a platform-reported performance signal rather than a universal benchmark. Still, the product direction is clear. Reddit is trying to turn community context into a lower-funnel advertising advantage.
The update also expands audience integrations with Bombora, Demandbase, Clay, G2 through the Bombora connector, and Octane11. Measurement partners including Octane11 and Dreamdata are intended to connect Reddit activity to attribution and pipeline outcomes. HubSpot is being tested in open beta for attribution, reporting, and account setup, while Pixel and Conversions API implementation is planned for later this year.
The real shift is what happens after the Reddit click
Reddit has long had a credible argument around intent. People use its communities to ask questions, compare experiences, and investigate products before making decisions. The challenge for advertisers has been turning that messy, conversational behavior into something a marketing team can track and defend internally.
The Huntress case study shows the ambition. Reddit says the cybersecurity company cut its cost per acquisition by more than half across two campaigns, while 40% of sales-qualified accounts sourced from Reddit over the past year converted into sales opportunities.
That does not make Reddit a replacement for search, CRM or broader demand-generation channels. It does show where the platform wants to compete: beyond impressions and lead volume, inside the measurable path from community research to qualified business opportunity. For marketers, Reddit’s value will increasingly depend on whether its targeting and measurement tools can make that path visible enough to earn more budget.
