I’m actually speechless. It’s not that I don’t like peanut butter (I love peanut butter!) but I love my staples. I checked the date also, we are nowhere near April 1st…
My feelings aside, Nutella says the new flavor is crafted to suit American tastes: a flavorful blend of the classic hazelnut cocoa with roasted peanuts. According to Ferrero North America president Michael Lindsey, who called the launch “a defining moment,” it took five years to develop the new Nutella Peanut flavor.
The new flavor will be produced in Franklin Park, Illinois, also contributing to the brand’s commitment to expand its American presence. Nutella Peanut aims to strengthen the brand’s position in a competitive spreads category, while also introducing a uniquely American twist to the classic European staple. The brand hopes it will give them new momentum in the region as it looks to engage both long-time Nutella fans and new consumers
And as for me, I will continue to enjoy my Nutella spread, butter-less and peanut-less. (can we also talk about how it is so good to just eat a spoonful of it?)
