Ever heard of Nextdoor? Nope? Well, it’s a social network slated to be worth over $1 billion, and it was made specifically for you and your neighbours – a really cool idea actually. After only being available in the US for many years, Nextdoor is now becoming available in Europe as well.

We wrote about Nextdoor back in 2013, when it was just over a year old. Now, it’s just over four, is worth over $1 billion, and it’s expanding to Europe. The Netherlands is the first place on the continent and the United Kingdom is next on the list in a few months. The social network has over 92,000 communities across the US and is eyeing up big-time expansion.

But why choose the Netherlands? Well, according to Nextdoor’s CEO and founder, Nirav Tolia, it’s because of the Dutch peoples’ “sense of belonging and togetherness,”. I couldn’t agree more! Nextdoor has been available as a private beta and is being tested in the Netherlands for months. It seems to be growing fast! In the last three months, there are over 90 communities.
