At its E3 showcase last week, Microsoft revealed an Xbox Mini Fridge inspired by the Xbox Series X gaming console.
In early April, Microsoft executive Aaron Greenberg promised to create an Xbox Series X mini fridge if Xbox won the vote in Twitter’s first-ever #BestOfTweets Brand Bracket.
Although Greenberg made it clear that his promise was certainly not an April Fools joke, most of us didn’t think he was really serious.

Well, Xbox won the vote, and it turns out he’s intent on delivering.
Ok…here goes. Help @Xbox win this and we’ll put into production this year REAL XBOX SERIES X MINI FRIDGES! Yep, you read that right. Not an April Fools joke. Not clickbait. #Xbox #BestofTweets https://t.co/vm5B0kZht1 pic.twitter.com/A28hWBP3Db

All we know so far from the reveal is that it is set to look like an upright Series X console (surprise, surprise) and will be the “most powerful mini fridge” in the world, featuring “Xbox velocity cooling architecture.”
The upcoming Xbox Mini Fridge is not the first of its kind.
Last year, the brand partnered with Snoop Dogg to release a full-sized Xbox Series X Fridge. The appliance was “inspired by one of the internet’s favorite console memes” and came “complete with the latest next-gen cooling technology.”
However, it definitely wasn’t mini as a “1:1 scale replica of the Xbox Series X, standing over 6 feet tall and weighing in at 400 pounds.”
It had an Xbox power icon on the front, seducing you toward a “bright guiding light for your snacking quests” and a handle in the shape of a disc drive slot. When opened, the fridge would play an epic new signature Xbox sound.
Apart from the logo and the green signature Series X green glow, we are unaware of whether the mini fridge will share other features.
Also, Microsoft hasn’t revealed whether it will be sold or given away (like the full-sized version) – but hinted at a possible release date sometime during the 2021 holiday season.
