Messenger for iOS is getting a new business inbox, allowing users to easily switch between business and personal accounts.
Messenger from Facebook is getting an upgrade today with a new business inbox that will let you manage your Page’s inbox right from within the app. The rollout began on iOS and the feature should roll out to Android in the coming weeks.

Mike Weingert, Messenger Product Manager, explained in a blog post that Facebook’s research determined that over 90% of business Pages admins already use Messenger to communicate with friends and family. The same research also concluded that most users do not want to download and manage multiple apps.
Weingert also cited complementary research from HubSpot that found that 9 out of 10 customers believe immediate responses from businesses are important or very important when they have questions related to sales and marketing, store hours, product availability, and options for delivery and pickup.
With the new business inbox in Messenger, business owners will be able to respond in a timely manner, wherever they are, and without the need for an app they don’t already have on their phones:
“The new business inbox in Messenger will make it easy and convenient for businesses to respond quickly. And businesses can also choose to receive notifications in the Messenger app to remind them to get back to customers in a timely manner. The business inbox in Messenger also complements the Page Manager app, where, in addition to messaging, businesses can manage their Facebook posts, create ads, and view page insights.”
“We are currently seeing a 250% increase of messages from guests who need to reschedule their trips due to COVID-19,” said Matt Volpert, owner of Kern River Outfitters. “This makes it difficult for my small team to get back to these guests in a timely fashion. The business inbox in Messenger is a fantastic tool that will help me quickly respond to each and every one of my guests, whether I’m in the office or on the river.”
