Marvel’s Wolverine PS5 Bundle Gets Battle Yellow Design

PlayStation has given the PS5 one of its wildest makeovers yet, and it looks like Logan used the console as a scratching post.

The Marvel’s Wolverine Limited Edition PS5 collection arrives on September 15, the same day Insomniac Games releases Marvel’s Wolverine. At the center is a $649.99 PS5 Digital Edition bundle dressed in Battle Yellow, complete with a matching DualSense controller and a digital game voucher.

It is loud, very yellow and not remotely interested in blending into anyone’s living room.

Battle Yellow goes straight for the claws

The console takes its look from Wolverine’s classic colors and Insomniac’s Battle Reborn suit. Yellow panels wrap around a black center, while transparent claw slashes cut through the shell and reveal parts of the machine underneath.

That detail is what makes the design work. This is not a regular PS5 with a Wolverine logo printed on the side. The console looks like the character has physically interacted with it, which gives the hardware some of Logan’s aggression without turning it into a plastic action figure.

PlayStation worked with Scottish graphic artist Jock, whose hand-drawn comic work helped shape the raw visual language of the collection. The matching Battle Yellow DualSense carries the same slash treatment across the controller and will also be sold separately for $84.99.

The bundle includes the game plus the standard preorder bonuses: an early unlock for the Classic Brown suit and Reflective Claws, one Technique Point and four PlayStation avatars.

PlayStation has been turning gaming history into lifestyle products for a while, from its 30th anniversary Reebok collection to retro accessories inspired by the original console. This release flips that idea forward. Instead of nostalgia, it transforms a new game into a collectible before anyone has even played it.

Existing PS5 owners can still get scratched

Anyone who already owns a PS5 Slim or PS5 Pro does not need to buy another console to get the look. Battle Yellow console covers will be available for both systems at $74.99, including versions for PS5 Slim models with or without a disc drive.

PS5 Pro owners also get the moodier option. The Adamantium Limited Edition swaps comic-book yellow for a metallic silver finish, keeping the transparent claw marks while referencing the metal bonded to Wolverine’s skeleton. A matching Adamantium DualSense will cost $84.99.

There is no complete Adamantium console bundle, which may be the most Wolverine decision in the collection. You have to build that version yourself.

Preorders open August 19 at 7 a.m. PT and 10 a.m. ET in the US, and at 10 a.m. local time across supported European markets. Everything launches September 15 in limited quantities through PlayStation Direct and select retailers.

Limited-edition gaming hardware often falls into the familiar trap of placing a logo on an existing product and calling it collectible. PlayStation avoided that here. The colors, materials and damage all come directly from the character.

Tasteful? Probably not.

But Wolverine was never supposed to be tasteful.
