The project idea was submitted at the beginning of 2020 by Guillaume Roussel, aka Disneybrick55. The 23-year-old drew inspiration from the tales of Jules Verne. “When approaching the design, I asked myself ‘what could be creative, educational and touch most of the world?’ And the answer was just ‘the world itself,'” said Roussel.

Last year, LEGO released an 11,695-piece world map as part of its ART series –  which included the most pieces ever within a set in LEGO’s history. More recently, LEGO Ideas introduced the official “Sonic the Hedgehog™ – Green Hill Zone” set, a picture-perfect Green Hill Zone for Sonic the Hedgehog.

The LEGO Ideas 21332 The Globe is available to purchase starting February 1 on the LEGO website for a price of $199.99.
