Did you know that KFC has been mentioned in over 46 hip-hop songs over the past 30 years? Now the company had decided to use its lyrical fame to promote its finger-licking-good chicken on Spotify.
It’s in the culture of hip-hop itself to name-drop brand names in songs. While fashion and alcohol are among the main topics, food (and restaurant chains) are still in the major league. Over the past 30 years, KFC made it to over 46 songs, from Run DMC to Kanye West or Kendrick Lamar. Yes, KFC, is a reference.
Today, KFC France has decided to show its recognition with a brand new “Bucker Bangers” playlist on Spotify that regroups all the songs mentioning their brand.
Sid Lee Paris is the agency behind this campaign, which is promoted across Paris through Spotify banners and OOH with lyrics from the specific songs.
